Spread a little love today! We can’t resist those sweet, corny love-inspired messages on Valentine’s Day. In years past, we’ve helped spread the love from a “maker- perspective” — with design-, type-, color- and code-inspired love notes… after all, those are some of the tools we use every day. Here are eight of our favorite messages from 2017 and 2018 as well as two new ones for 2019 for you to share. Just click on the image to share directly to Facebook, and tag the one you love.
What a Year! 2018 in a Nutshell
A temporary move out of and then back to Old Ellicott City, exciting new projects, tried and true clients, exciting artistic endeavors…. Whether it was onboarding a new brand positioning client, designing a logo or annual report, or expanding outreach for our clients on social media, insight180 had a memorable and creative 2018. We also had some challenges, including the second “100-year flood” in Ellicott City within two years, displacing us…again. But we didn’t let that get us down! Thanks to our own business continuity plan, we were able to work remotely and communicate effectively with each other and our clients during the six-plus months we were out of the office.
What I Learned: An Intern’s Experience at Insight180
This summer, insight180 had the pleasure of working with graphic design intern Sara Nowasky over the summer. As Sara prepares to head back to school, we decided to do a quick Q&A to hear about what she learned and her favorite parts about working at insight180.
Welcoming Our Summer Intern to the Team!
Insight180 would like to welcome our summer intern, Sara Nowaskey! Sara is a senior at Salisbury University in Salisbury, Maryland, where she is majoring in Graphic Design. She is excited to join the insight180 team for a few months and looks forward to soaking in all the knowledge and experience she can – from creating and refining designs and understanding brand campaigns, to observing and working with clients.
Insight180: Coming Full Circle
On that Saturday night, I had been in downtown Ellicott City to show a guest from Slovenia, Karin, our quaint little town. My long-time friend Carol would be leading a Sierra Club trip in the fall to Slovenia, so I invited her along for an opportunity to talk to a native. It had been a beautiful summer day, with a slight chance of rain in the forecast. As we drove around Ellicott City, it started pouring; and as we looked for parking, it became torrential. Though we decided not to stay, I did swing by the office to put out the sandbags in front of the office door and that of our business neighbor — as I had done so many times for so many storms in the past 16 years. By the time I dragged out the sandbags and got back to the car, my feet were covered with water. As we tried to get to higher ground, many side roads were already closed.
